The Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC), a beacon of excellence in human capacity development, continues to demonstrate its commitment to nurturing talent within the Lagos State Civil Service. Recently, the center received a resounding vote of confidence from His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, to organize the much-anticipated Induction Course for staff employed since 2021.
This induction course, a hallmark of the PSSDC’s dedication to shaping the future of Lagos State’s civil service, is being conducted in multiple batches. The opening ceremony for the first batch was nothing short of a grand affair, graced by eminent dignitaries who recognize the pivotal role the PSSDC plays in building a skilled and efficient civil service workforce.
Among the distinguished guests was Mr. Hakeem Muri Okunola, the Head of Service, who was represented by the diligent Permanent Secretary of the Public Service Office, Mr. Kola Solaja. Mrs. Mojisola Sofowora, the Chairman of the Health Service Commission, also joined the event, further emphasizing the collaborative spirit that the PSSDC promotes. The Director-General of the PSSDC, Mr. Adekunmilola Adio-Moses, added to the grandeur of the occasion with his presence.
In her inspiring remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Public Service Office, Mr. Kola Solaja, urged the participants to seize this unique opportunity to contribute their best to the Lagos State Civil Service, renowned as one of the finest in Nigeria. Mr. Solaja underscored the importance of this induction course in shaping the future of these civil servants’ careers, setting the stage for excellence.
Mr. Adekunmilola Adio-Moses, the Director-General of the PSSDC, affirmed the center’s unwavering commitment to its participants. He assured them that the PSSDC would remain a stalwart partner throughout their careers, offering a plethora of top-notch programs and courses to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed for stellar performance in the civil service.
This induction program, a massive endeavor by the PSSDC, will see the training of approximately 9,000 civil servants across various cadres. This includes 2,000 education officers, 1,500 dedicated health workers, and 1,200 executive and administrative officers, among others. This ambitious undertaking demonstrates the PSSDC’s dedication to fostering excellence across all sectors of the Lagos State Civil Service.
