The Lagos State Government, in partnership with UK AID through the Foreign Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO) and Tech4Dev, has organized a three-day digital proficiency training for 3,000 public servants. Conducted in batches of 300 participants each, the training aims to enhance individual productivity and service delivery within the State Public Service.
Speaking at the Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC) in Magodo, the Honourable Commissioner for the Ministry of Establishments and Training, Mr. Afolabi Ayantayo, emphasized the growing importance of technology in today’s rapidly evolving world. He noted that the ability of public servants to effectively use digital tools is crucial for their effectiveness and relevance in their roles. Mr. Ayantayo urged all participants to become proficient in digital technology.
The Commissioner further highlighted that this training program is a testament to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to equipping the workforce with the necessary skills to excel and contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.
Mrs. Olubusola Abidakun, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Establishments and Training, acknowledged the collaborative efforts behind the initiative. She noted that the program was made possible through the combined efforts of the Ministry of Establishments and Training, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Office of Sustainable Development Goals, UK AID, the FCDO, and Tech4Dev.
Responding on behalf of the participants, Mr. Otegbade Oluwatobi expressed gratitude to the Lagos State Government for the program, emphasizing its potential to enhance service delivery.
