The Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC) Community Christian Fellowship celebrated the 2023 Christmas Carol with the theme “Appreciating the King” on Thursday, December 14th. The event, held at the Centre’s Library Hall, was a vibrant occasion of celebration and thanksgiving, with management and staff from various religious backgrounds coming together to appreciate God.
In his welcome address, Mr. Babalola Abidogun, Coordinator of the PSSDC Community Christian Fellowship, expressed gratitude to God for allowing everyone to witness the end of the year and the Christmas Carol. He prayed for continued blessings for PSSDC, the Lagos State Government, and Nigeria as a whole.
The Director-General of PSSDC, Mr. Adekunmilola T. Adio Moses, attending his first Christmas program at the Centre as the Father of the Day, thanked all the special guests and attendees. He acknowledged the recent ordination of Rev. Mrs. Ajisafe and appreciated Mr. Abidogun for his dedicated leadership of the fellowship over the years. Mr. Moses emphasized the importance of sharing during the festive season, highlighting that God has given everyone qualities that can benefit others. “Throughout this season, as we go about our daily activities, share a word, items, clothing, food, etc. A community of love is very important,” he said. He prayed for continued blessings and testimonies for all present.
Mrs. Omolola Adedokun, representing the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Establishment and Training, read the first lesson of the day. The Christmas Carol featured choir renditions of several Christmas hymns, instrumentals, Bible lessons, and a message from Pastor Samson Kilanko titled “Appreciating the King of Kings.” Pastor Kilanko encouraged everyone to be thankful to God and to maintain faith in His promises. He offered prayers for the Centre, its management, and all staff.
The event was a beautiful reminder of the joy and spirit of Christmas, fostering a sense of community and gratitude among all participants.
